Black and White

Hello everyone and happy new year to you all!

For my first post of 2013 I'm sharing with you a card I just made a couple of days ago, and which I'm entering into a challenge. Less Is More's challenge this week is black and white with a hint of colour, so here is my offering:

So my hint of colour is the red in the ribbon and in the hearts which I have coloured with ProMarkers. I hope there's enough white space!

The main stamp is by Hero Arts and is called Heart Felt Background, and the sentiment is from a clear set, again by Hero Arts, called You & Me. I love the background - it reminds me of the kinds of wallpapers found in some of those lovely old stately homes you can tour round. After I'd stamped the main image I added WOW clear embossing powder and heated it. In places the ink had already begun to dry when I applied the powder (which I knew was the case), so it didn't stick to the whole design, and the result is a lovely textured image, which was exactly the effect I was going for, and it works really well! You'd have to see it in the flesh and stroke it to really appreciate it! (Coincidentally, WOW Embossing Powders are sponsoring this challenge!) Once I'd coloured in the heart sections I cut the whole piece out, tied the ribbon round, mounted it onto some white card using double-sided tape, and then fixed this onto a white card using foam pads. The card is A5 size. The sentiment was also fixed using foam pads.

Thanks for popping in and I'll be back soon with more offerings.

Take care.

Love from me xx
